Job Description

Fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Insurance Underwriter and a bright graduate / applicant with 3 A/B grade A Levels to join my market leading client’s expanding Commercial Insurance team

Key responsibilities

Office based, initially training to underwrite scheme broker referrals

Dealing with a volume of referrals at new business, renewals and mid term which fall outside of the broker’s authority

To identify and challenge non-standard underwriting decisions with a reasoned referral to a product expert or senior underwriter

Daily interaction with schemes broker base

Regular discussions with regional offices

To underwrite consistently and profitability

Key requirements

A graduate (2.1 or above or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 A levels (or equivalent) at grade C or above

Experience of working in the insurance sector, ideally in commercial broking or underwriting preferred

Excellent telephone manner and inter-personal skills to develop close rapport with our broker supporters

Potential to develop good conversion and sales skills

Applicants must demonstrate a high level of drive and enthusiasm
