Job Description

Fantastic opportunity for an individual with either a Commercial or Professional Indemnity Insurance background to join the Schemes team in a new role with my market-leading Insurer client.

Working closely with the Underwriting function the purpose of this role is as follows:

• To ensure a quick response to new scheme opportunities

• Test schemes for profitability and growth

• Using management information and accurate reporting to ensure visibility of schemes.

• Set viable schemes up & incubate in the short-term to ensure robust business processing

• Work with our 3rd parties to ensure smooth operations and high quality service.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Schemes Team Leader to facilitate analysis of individual schemes

Proactively seek to improve current reporting templates

Interpretation of actual scheme data against agreed scheme performance criteria

Support the Schemes Team Leader, provide regular, accurate feedback, progress updates & reports to scheme stakeholders versus agreed success criteria

Analysis on the performance of individual schemes to support ‘kill or develop’ decisions by the business

Proactively analyse procedures and protocols and provide feedback and recommendations to the Schemes Team Leader.

Key Requirements:

Previous commercial or professional indemnity insurance experience, ideally in an operational or underwriting environment

Educated to good A-level standard (or equivalent) and must have a minimum 5 GCSE’s (including English Language and Mathematics) at grade C or above

Degree qualified candidates preferred

CII Diploma in Insurance or willingness to work towards within 2 years (support given)

Ability to develop basic underwriting & product knowledge to aid decision making

Strong character with ability to make decisions under pressure

Competent user of Microsoft Excel

Analytical mindset and experience of producing reports

Personable and able to develop robust working relationships with people from a variety of departments and backgrounds
