Job Description
A new role and an exciting opportunity for an Underwriter with Commercial Combined experience to work with existing Schemes Underwriters and Analysts – dealing with underwriting referrals from brokers, you will be expected to underwrite schemes business involving a variety of classes, including property, liability, PI and D&O, in order to meet agreed service standards and key performance objectives. You will actively identify opportunities to cross-sell and build the whole business.
Key responsibilities
To underwrite consistently and profitability
To develop close, effective relationships with brokers including attending broker visits to discuss scheme business where necessary
To effectively negotiate with both internal and external parties including identified points of contact with a brokerage
To maintain and develop internal and external customer relations
To identify non performing schemes in terms of key performance indicators and ensure appropriate action is taken
To act as a point of referral point for trainee underwriters and chosen product lines
To identify and assist the delegation of simple underwriting tasks to the administration team
Key requirements:
Relevant underwriting experience of Commercial Combined risks is essential
ACII qualification or progression towards qualification
Preferably degree qualified with a minimum of 2 A levels at grade C or above, although this is not a pre-requisite for an experienced underwriter
