Job Purpose:

To make pricing recommendations to maximise profitability controlling all aspects of the daily underwriting profile.

Job Responsibilities:

Manage and mentor multi location pricing teams

Achieve an innovative approach to pricing which drives the business forward taking advantage of the developments in motor pricing technology

To be responsible for the appropriate use of statistical techniques to produce key factor models; e.g. burn cost models, retention models

Implement strategies providing effective management of a pricing team function

Provide excellent leadership to all direct reports and to the teams within the relevant function, and monitoring the performance of the function.

Ensure positive communication with all team members, colleagues, executive and shareholders

Assist with the preparation of timely budgets and re-forecasts for relevant function

Ensure excellent communication with all internal business areas

Ensure compliance with company and other relevant standards/ regulations at all times

Any other reasonable duties as required

Job Specific Competencies:

Experience

Solid experience of a statistical role within the personal lines insurance industry, preferable motor insurance

Solid experience of SAS and preferably EMBLEM

Managerial experience

Budget Management

Team Management

Excellent data and statistical analysis skills

Good numerical skills

Good communication skills, both verbal and written

Presentation skills

Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to adopt a logical approach to solving problems

People management and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate employees in a high pressurised environment

Knowledge

Excellent knowledge of motor insurance products and the motor insurance industry
