Role Overview: Exciting opportunity for a Senior Commercial Underwriter to join an expanding team and be responsible for underwriting existing complex technical business and provide a referral point to the rest of the team.

Key responsibilities:
To deal with complex technical referrals and to be able to write larger and more difficult risks
Act as main referral point within team for Professional Indemnity risks
Provide mentoring and coaching to less experienced underwriters
Provide a point of excellence for senior brokers
Underwrite profitable business and monitor the overall performance of the existing regional renewal book and ensure remedial action is taken to correct any performance issues

The ideal Candidate will have the following key attributes:
Solid understanding of and previous underwriting experience in PI and Commercial risks
ACII qualification or close to completion
Able to demonstrate effective negotiation with all levels and types of broker, and experience of having dealt with non-standard risks effectively
Strong presentation skills to be able to pitch for business effectively and to influence decisions
Able to form strong relationships with senior brokers and directors
Able to make effective decisions when dealing with complex technical issues and can justify underwriting decisions
