The Role Working as part of the Group Operations Claims Team, Claims Technicians provide key technical and operational support to the Claims Underwriters. Claims Technicians develop a network of internal and external contacts to strive to continually improve operational services. They play a key role in the development of the procedures and processes which contribute to the success of Group Claims in meeting its objectives. Principle Duties and Responsibilities Provide technical and administrative support to the Property and Motor Claims Underwriting teams. Understand the relevant business metric and generate accurate MI and data analysis. Develop internal and external relationships to improve efficiency and quality of service. Act as an Operations focal point for the Claims Team, ensuring appropriate understanding of products, business models and technologies. Represent Operations and support Claims Projects as agreed. Manipulation and processing of data into key systems. Other ad hoc tasks as requested by Manager Person Specification Strong academic background and preferably educated to degree level. Strong IT skills and aptitude for understanding application. Insurance industry experience. Highly numerate and analytical with strong attention to detail in interpreting data and producing accurate analysis and high quality output. Service-focused and responsive to deadlines and targets with a flexible attitude to work and adaptable to change. Driven and proactive with the ability to use own initiative to identify improvements and ability to work with others to implement. Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships, both internally and externally. Ability to work independently. Appetite for learning and development.
