Capital Modelling Actuary

JOB SUMMARY:

To provide assistance to the departmental manager in all aspects of the work conducted within the Capital Modelling department at our clients company.

Main Duties:

Assistance in the preparation of Individual Capital Assessments (ICAs) for managed syndicates.

Parameterisation of models and data analysis to support modelling work.

Interpretation and presentation of modelled results to syndicate management, company management and third capital providers.

Provide support to managed syndicates in optimising the reinsurance/ capital mix and in structuring reinsurance programmes.

Provide support to managed syndicates and the company group in optimising investment strategy.

Provide support to managed syndicates is assessing the capital implications of new business opportunities or of divestments.

Assist in development of solvency II framework for third part managed syndicates and the company group.

Technical Skills:

Essential: Good knowledge of Word and Excel (or equivalents)

Desirable: Good Knowledge of Igloo/ Stochastic Modelling

Education and Qualifications:

Essential: Honors Degree - 2(i) or better in a numerate discipline.

A’ Level Maths Grade A

FIA or FAA

Desirable: 1^st in Maths

ACII Qualified

Statistical Qualifications

Specialist Training:

Igloo software

Relevant Experience:

Essential: At least two years general insurance experience

Desirable: Capital modelling experience

Lloyds of London experience

Igloo professional

2+ years PQE

Personal Skills:

Able to interact successfully at all levels (i.e. Senior, Junior and External Parties)

Hard working and committed

Able to liase with staff at all levels
