Job Description

We currently have an excellent opportunity for one incumbent to join the Underwriting Management team of a leading Lloyds Managing Agent to assist in the structure, co-ordination and placement of the Marine and Energy reinsurance protections.

Vacancy Brief:

The main role of the Reinsurance Purchasing team is to ensure that the structure of the Syndicate's reinsurance protections are appropriate (against the business written and our risk appetite) in terms of coverage, attachment level, cost and that reinsurances are placed in a timely manner with approved security.

Purchasing / co-ordination of Reinsurance placements

Broker Liaison

Reinsurer Liaison

Liaison with Class Underwriters

Ensuring appropriate RI coverage / terms / conditions

Testing of RI structures against risk appetite

Impact analysis

Monitoring of reinsurance security utilisation

Also to assist in the review, enhancement and production of placing information. Ensuring that this is appropriate, accurate and represents the business in the best possible light.

Objectives of the Role:

To allow the Reinsurance Purchasing area to operate more effectively, especially throughout the renewal season and to increase the capability to deal with new classes of business / requirements and alternatives throughout the year.

Applicants should possess excellent Technical reinsurance skills, good knowledge of Word, particularly Excel and Visio (or equivalent) and be highly numerate with good data manipulation skills. You will also have in-depth Reinsurance knowledge, good Commercial Awareness and a good understanding / appreciation of inwards business (ideally Marine & Energy).
