Job Title: Legacy Officer
Location: North London
Duration: Permanent Contract; 2.5 days per week (0.5 FTE)
Reporting to: Director of Finance and Operations
Salary: £28,038 - £31,122 (pro rata)

Working for a leading Charity campaigning organisation, we are looking for an experienced legacy officer in this new role designed to take a lead in the company’s legacy programmes, you will work in conjunction with the Finance & Operations Director to develop, build and manage a robust legacy management system to maximise legacy income for the organisation.
Comfortable thinking strategically and with an eye for detail, you will help draft and implement a legacy strategy that will form a cornerstone of the organisation’s business plan. Working directly with colleagues within the Development, Marketing and Communications team you will take a proactive lead in the design and implementation of a tailored legacy marketing plan to develop and build for the future.
Working closely with colleagues, stakeholders and partners; specifically in enhancing the fundraising effort, your contribution through policy and high profile tailored campaigns, will significantly help advance the charity's agenda.
Core Responsibilities:
1. To have a hands on approach in the administration of all current and future legacy cases
2. To take a lead role in the review and approval of estate accounts on behalf of the organisation
3. Work with the Finance and Operations Director to build and deliver the company’s legacy strategy
4. Build and maintain a comprehensive repository of key legacy information; including an electronic database suitable for the recording and administering all pecuniary and residuary legacy cases
5. To build, implement and manage robust and comprehensive legacy forecast models for incorporation into the organisation’s formal business planning cycle
6. To act as the main point of contact in order to manage efficient communications with all legacy pledgers, legal practices, advocates and interested parties
7. To represent the organisation and negotiate with legal and commercial practitioners, stakeholders and client groups to ensure that the organisation achieves best value
8. To liaise with the Development, Marketing and Communications Director to plan and implement a new legacy marketing strategy
9. To keep up to date with all relevant legislation and regulation and to provide general legacy income advice to the Finance and Operations Director as required
10. Work closely with the Finance Manager to provide legacy management reports, comparing actual income to budgetary projections to the Finance and Operations Director on a monthly basis
11. At the request of the Finance and Operations Director and the CEO, undertake any other duties consistent with this post
