The company is a well-established and respected international consultancy firm that specialises in the avoidance, management and resolution of disputes arising in connection with engineering and construction projects.

The role:

An experienced Claims Manager is required to ‘pick up the reins’ on two piping projects which have a number of commercial difficulties which are already crystallizing.
The role will be specifically dealing with disputes and contract administration.

Duties include:

Working for the Main Contractor, the successful candidate will be responsible for administration of the contracts between the Main Contractor and the Sub Contractors, including:
The provision of tactical and strategic level commercial and contractual advice to the project’s management team, so that they may optimise their financial return on the project.
Contract interpretation and review.
Management of claims, including defence against incoming claims and the preparation of outgoing claims.
Review / prepare contractual correspondence.
Support project management in negotiation meetings.

Candidate Specifics:

Candidate should have at least 10 years post qualification experience.
Must have experience of power station piping projects.
Must have experience of working as a Claims Manager or Contract Administrator on live Process and Power Generation projects.
Must have project experience involving major disputes.
Strong engineering / piping experience is advantageous.
Large-scale international claims experience is also advantageous.
Good technical understanding of power plants is an advantage.
Must have excellent English language ability.
Knowledge of French and German languages would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be given a competitive salary equivalent to around €100k pa (depending on suitability and experience) plus generous benefits, which may include bonuses, accommodation and allowances.
