Job Description
Reporting to: Claims Team Leader
The role:
Working within a dedicated team to deliver a high quality claims service to high net worth household and motor clients, commercial clients and brokers; whilst maintaining and enhancing the company reputation for extraordinary claims service.
The role will include handling your own caseload of high value, technical claims with an emphasis on proactive, project management of large losses.
Direct communication by telephone with the Insured and Intermediary, managing the relationship with policyholders, assessing the size of the claim, its potential severity and dealing with same in a proactive manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Proactively managing a mixed caseload of high net worth and commercial property, subsidence, liability and motor claims.
Deal with telephone calls from policyholders, brokers, loss adjusters and other experts.
To negotiate and settle claims fairly and promptly.
Ability to work unsupervised and show initiative in their claims handling approach.
Building a relationship and gaining broker confidence when handling large losses.
100% customer and indemnity focused and being comfortable with the company claims handling philosophy.
Key Requirements:
Skills:
Preferably educated to 2:1 degree standard.
Must have good A levels (or equivalent) at grade C or above (must also have 5 GCSE’s including English and Mathematics at grade C or above).
Applicants will have solid experience handling high net worth and/or commercial property claims for an insurance company.
This should include property, liability and subsidence claims.
Experience in handling business interruption claims is desirable.
Progression towards relevant professional qualifications would be advantageous.
Good working knowledge of Windows packages, including Microsoft Project, would be advantageous.
Attributes:
Must be able to work unsupervised and handle claims in a proactive yet highly customer focused manner.
Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills both face to face and by telephone.
Must have good organisational skills, the ability to work in a methodical manner and meet deadlines.
There will be a requirement for UK travel from time to time.
