Job Description
Summary:
Key purpose of the role is to actively manage your own portfolio to ensure all Accidental Damage, Fire and Theft, including total losses are dealt with proactively and in accordance with The company settlement and reserving philosophies.
Reporting to:
Team Leader
Key Responsibilities:
Actively manage own portfolio and prioritise work flow.
Reserve in accordance within company philosophies.
Establish liability under policy.
Settle proactively.
Ensure salvage disposal instructions are given upon settlement of total loss claims.
Adhere to ICOB and TCF.
Ensure maximum level of assistance is provided to each and every policyholder.
Identify, resolve and refer complaints as appropriate.
Ensure targets are met or surpassed.
Assist Section Leader/Management when required.
Ensure Divisional Director – Claims and Assistant Claims Manager are informed of all high value claims.
Ad hoc or additional:
The above represents the key areas of responsibility within your role, however you may be required to cover additional duties as and when required.
The role may require the working of occasional weekends to assist with ad hoc projects.
Experience:
Minimum 4 years insurance experience in Underwriting or Claims environment.
Professional Qualifications:
Ideally will have CII qualification or will be considering progression towards it.
Skills/Personal Qualities:
Good organisation skills, ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
Good communication skills including the ability to diffuse and resolve difficult situations.
Computer literacy and good key board skills.
Ability to make decisions where necessary or know when to refer Ability to work under own initiative.
Good team work skills and team management skills.
Good negotiation skills.
Honesty, integrity, reputation.
Competence/capability and financial soundness as required by the FSA.
