The role:

The successful candidate will perform a key role within the London based actuarial team with considerable career development potential.
The candidate will report directly to the Syndicate Actuary and will have the opportunity to liaise directly with senior management.

Key responsibilities:

Reserving Preparation of quarterly reserving data, analyses and reports; Assistance in developing and embedding reserving methods and processes; Communicating reserving results to management and external auditors.
Capital modeling Assistance in developing and embedding existing Syndicate capital modeling capabilities; Assistance in reporting capital modeling output to senior management and other external parties including Lloyds; Assume an active role on the Syndicate and Group enterprise risk management team.
Pricing support Assistance in monitoring price rating levels and adherence to business plans.
Assistance with the review and development of existing pricing models.
Assistance in providing technical actuarial support to underwriters.
Management reporting.
Play a key role in preparing and maintaining Syndicate business plans.
Assistance in preparing essential actuarial management information packs to support decision making across the business.
Ad-hoc project support Support with ad-hoc actuarial projects as and when required.

Knowledge / Experience Required:

Excellent academic background.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work well as part of a team.
Proficient user of Excel (VBA ideal) Strong actuarial examination record and a desire to become a fully qualified actuary; General insurance experience.
