Job Description
Location: Debden, Essex
Reporting to:
Health and Safety Advisor
Main purpose of role:
This is a support role and the post holder will assist the Health and Safety Advisor in the development of EHS policies, procedures and operational practices at the Debden site, ensuring compliance and a safe place to work.
Key Responsibilities:
Champion behavioural changes, aiming for a best practice and zero accident culture.
Be involved in site EHS – Policy, Organisation, Planning, Measurement and Audit/Review.
Assist in the undertaking of standard Risk Assessments, COSHH assessments and assessing specialist EHS hazards.
Administration of investigations into all accidents and dangerous occurrences.
Work with the H&S Advisor and the Company insurers and solicitors.
Be able to compile EHS statistics.
Assist in the control of contractors Assist in providing practical advice and training in relation to EHS issues.
Contribute to the Management of Continuous Improvement.
Qualifications & Training:
Certificate or Diploma in Health and Safety or Environment, such as IOSH is preferable.
Skills:
Good communication skills, drive and enthusiasm.
A working knowledge of EHS law and its application through effective management systems.
Strengths to include attention to detail, good organisational and interpersonal skills.
Computer literate and have a working knowledge of Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
Previous Experience:
Knowledge of computerised management systems would be beneficial.
Enthusiasm and belief in EHS is essential.
Experience in Print/Manufacturing Industry.
Experience of ISO 14001 and 18001 would be an advantage.
Experience in delivering training to all levels.
