Job Description
Department: Non Marine Claims
Reports to: Claims Manager
Job Summary:
Responsible for the handling and settlement of non marine claims in run off, predominately US and written on both a direct and reinsurance basis.
Main Duties:
Handling / settling claims against lead accounts predominantly US Casualty both direct and reinsurance.
Classes include CGL, property & casualty, binding authorities.
This will include litigation management relating to both policy coverage disputes as well as general defence work.
Attendance at mediation's and on occasions for deposition may be required.
Monitoring of large/contentious claims against follow accounts.
Keeping abreast of developments / changes taking place in the market.
Working with adjusters, attorneys and other professional advisors.
Circulating direct reports to the market and on occasions organising market meetings Providing a good quality service to brokers / clients.
Organising review / audit work, analysing results and following up on recommendations.
Working with Reinsurance Department on requests / queries from re-insurers.
Conferring with and keeping Manager fully informed.

Ms Office – Windows XP
Word - Intermediate
Excel – Intermediate / Advances
Education and Qualifications:
Essential:
Lloyd’s Introductory Test
Desirable:
‘A’ Levels - Maths, English or equivalent
Relevant Experience:
Experience of the Lloyd’s market.
Specialist Training:
Audit work in US.
Personal Skills:
Common Sense.
Able to work as part of a team.
Good communication skills with the ability to liaise at all levels.
