Job Title: Online Content & Marketing Manager


Job Description

The role:

To define, deliver and manage the online content strategy for the Group.

Key accountabilities:

Support and influence the formulation / evolution of the web content management strategy:

Creation of business and user requirements.
Vendor selection and roll out across group websites.
Supporting people in adoption and use of content management system, e.g. localised management of content.
Development of workflow.
Business as usual management of content design and delivery.
Define functional requirements (technical and content) for site enhancements and new designs, e.g.
Accessibility standards, disability, tagging. Page tagging, e.g. titles, metatags. Order of page download, file compression, caching.
Use of technology in page, e.g. ajax.
Overall site maps and page by page content definitions.
Define development and testing standards, e.g. browser and operating system matrix.
Create design standards / guidelines for online branding.
Optimise sites for natural search:
Management of specialist agencies on project basis.
URL strategy and delivery.
Google search – ranking and content and copy served.
Onsite content strategy covering copy and use of emerging web 2.0.
Take the learning’s from PPC to optimise site build and content.
Use analytics and performance information to create a strong understanding of user and site ‘behaviour’.
Deliver proposals to optimise the user experience and increase conversion through key user journeys, e.g. quote to sale for core insurance products.
Manage internal and external relationships to create compelling user copy and content.
Work closely with user experience architect to drive and deliver strategic and tactical site re-designs and enhancements.

Key Requirements:

Specific experience of Rhythmyx content management system a significant advantage (though not essential if can demonstrate experience of similar types of systems).
Experience of using and managing enterprise content management systems – and delivering both transactional and non transactional content.
Experience of defining functional content requirements and optimising content for natural search.
Have worked for an extraordinary consumer brand and played a part in delivering digital propositions to customers.
Understanding of a user led design approach and customer experience.
Project management experience including cross functional experience of insight, marketing, copy, IT development and delivery.
Experience of managing sites to a core set of customer, brand and business objectives.
Experience of assessing and working with digital technologies, languages and infrastructure and the way they can be employed for customer and business benefit.
Experience of managing people and agencies (e.g. search agencies).
Copy writing experience would be an advantage.
