Introduction:

The company is a Lloyd’s Broker and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
It offers insurance and reinsurance intermediaries throughout the world access to Lloyd’s of London and to London, European and Bermudian companies.
They specialise in providing US Managing General Agents (“MGAs”) with a comprehensive service for surplus lines business.
They are acknowledged market leaders in arranging binding authorities for US MGAs and in managing the relationship between the MGA and the insurers.
They also provide, through their company Underwriting Managers division, a capability to quote and bind a wide variety of risks under our own in-house binding authorities.

Claims Department:

Based in London, the Claims department currently has a team of 22 employees.

Overview:

Reporting to Head of Claims, your role will be to provide technical services to the Claims.
Department, predominantly dealing with US Transportation business.

Responsibilities:

Assist in resolving queries from other departments and offices.
Ensure all client queries are dealt with in a timely manner by telephone or in writing.
Production/Maintenance of Claims Bordereau for presentation to Underwriters.
Ensure clients are kept informed of progress on claims.
Inputting new entries onto claims systems promptly.
Effectively manage daily workload to ensure all tasks are completed.
Supporting management as and when required.
Creating Claims files.
Ensuring cheques are issued promptly.

Skills and experience:

General claims experience (from first advice to settlement, Ideally U.S. based).
Good technical insurance claims knowledge.
Knowledge/previous handing of (claims) Bordereaux.
Numerate, articulate and analytical.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Good excel, working knowledge of access, word and outlook.

Education:

GCSEs, A–C Grades essential.
Professional Qualifications – Working towards Insurance Qualifications an advantage.
