Job Description
Division: Commercial Claims Department
Description:
Provide support to the team handling Employers Liability and Public Liability claims and with organisation and operation of the claims department.
Ensure a high quality of customer service in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements. Maintain a high level of communication with customers and brokers on claims.
Job Role:
Investigate and handle commercial Public Liability & Employers Liability claims from notification through to settlement.
Refer claims files and technical issues as appropriate in line with company and departmental procedures.
Appropriate liaison with Insured clients and Brokers and ensure customer satisfaction is achieved at all times.
Work towards successful achievement of individual and team agreed performance targets.
Discuss with agreed referral points any claim in excess of individual handling authority or outside personal experience.
Ensure that agreed service targets are achieved and maintain quality of output.
Support other members of staff on claims related issues.
Agree and ensure implementation of a personal development plan to support ongoing personal development.
Evaluate information received and communicate as appropriate to all relevant parties.
Act as a positive role model to others and to the standards established by the company.
Support the progression towards departmental and organisational goals.
I.T Skills:
PC literate.
Experience of using claims management and/or processing systems.
Experience:
Good understanding of general insurance and experience of handling all types of Employers & Public Liability claims,.
Experience of handling litigation preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
A-Level standard or insurance qualifications.
Personal Skills:
Ability to manage allocation of claims, in a way that ensures they are able to meet their own, company & departmental objectives, targets & deadlines.
Good negotiation skills.
Understanding of general commercial issues & cost control.
Ability to manage own time effectively and plan and set own targets to achieve service and quality standards.
The ability to communicate effectively internally and externally.
Experience of and ability to work in a team.
Able to assert confidently recommendations and decisions made, to customers and brokers.
Able to participate in putting forward suggestions for improvement at a team level.
