Job Purpose:

To carry out breakdown and repair work in line with Company policy to the complete satisfaction of customers and in the most cost efficient way.

Job Function:

To carry out breakdown and repair work in line with Company policy to the complete satisfaction of customers and in the most cost efficient way.
To respond to requests for breakdown and repair assistance in accordance with dispatch instructions, maintaining flexibility around working hours to meet the needs of customers and call out requirements.
To locate truck / equipment and confirm contract / warranty cover.
To diagnose nature of fault as quickly as possible.
To liaise with dispatcher / estimator and order parts and third party service where required within limits of authority.
To agree damage repair with customer and obtain authorisation.
To carry out repairs as quickly and effectively as possible to minimise truck / equipment downtime and meet safety requirements within agreed service standards and contract.
To enter all data accurately on the PDA system at each stage of the process and use all tools and equipment supplied in order to maximise business efficiency.
To complete all appropriate documentation and review / agree with customer.
To follow all Company policies, procedures, quality guidelines etc in order to ensure complete client satisfaction.
To achieve first time fix wherever possible to achieve maximum efficiency.
To communicate effectively at all levels, both internally and externally, in order to avoid misunderstanding and error.
Liaise with technical support staff to maintain up to date technical knowledge of equipment, parts, and methods.

Skills Ability Required:

Fully skilled engineer.
Self motivated, flexible, team player.
Good organisational and problem solving skills.
Current driving license.
