Job Description
The Company:
Post Trade Solutions (PTS), the back-office business line of the company Group, provides software and services to cross border and multi asset trading operations within the global Capital Markets.
PTS market a suite of products around the functionally rich RIMS capital markets system to provide a comprehensive and flexible, fully automated solution to support the complete post-trade execution transaction lifecycle.
Alternatively, modules are available to support specific requirements such as netting, messaging interfaces, business exception or inventory management that can be delivered as in-house license or ASP.
The innovative and expanding range of PTS’ products provides a varied and stimulating environment within the company.
Job Description:
As part of the PTS development team the successful candidate will be required to work on a range of products as well as designing and developing new products working on their own or within a development team.
The RIMS suite of modules cover equities and fixed income functionality for Institutional Brokers in the UK and globally.
PTS are looking to recruit a tester with experience in middle office, settlement or accounting.
The candidate should have strong financial business knowledge of areas such as OASYS global, SWIFT, CREST and have ambitions of growing into a business analyst role.
The role requires an individual who is able to lead as well as work quickly and effectively, individually or in team and who is a self-starter demonstrating drive and initiative.
The role involves:
Business analysis both pre and post sales at client and potential client sites.
Documenting to excellent standard clear descriptions of the functionality involved in a process.
Converting a business requirements specification to a functional specification in order that systems analysts can further develop the requirement.
Review system specifications with a long term aim of being able to write them.
Discussing solutions with both management and developers.
System testing the developed requirements using Mercury Quicktest Professional (QTP) wherever practical.
Some travel to European, Asian and American countries.

Required Skills:
Essential:
Understanding of the Financial Markets, after the trade has been executed both middle and back office.
(Consideration would be given if the individual has currently only been exposed to the pre-trading activity) Knowledge of Equity and Bond products Good written and verbal communication skills Functional Specification experience demonstrating strong problem solving and analytical skills Strong emphasis and understanding of quality standards procedures.
Desirable:
Knowledge of the clearing and settlement process.
Understanding of the margining concept in both the equity and derivative markets.
Oracle.
Familiarity with SQL will be a benefit.
Knowledge and use of Mercury’s QTP testing tool.
