9.30 am to 5.30 pm
Job Summary:
To assist the Group Training Manager in fulfilling the annual Learning & Development Plan. Researching, designing and delivering training to all staff within the Company’s operation. Administration of training courses and associated tasks, to include course booking, liaison with CII and other external suppliers, and upkeep of staff training reports.
Main Duties:
Design and deliver technical insurance training programmes (including mainframe training) that are both relevant and appropriate to the needs of the individual/department.
Maintain ongoing appraisal training needs plan and other training plans as required.
Produce and maintain a quarterly training timetable.
Produce and maintain all induction programmes and deliver to new starters.
Administration of training courses and development plans, including:
Research and meetings with requesting managers/delegates to agree material.
Design and preparation of course material.
Inviting attendees.
Maintaining course evaluation/attendance records.
Assist the group training manager with developing and maintaining procedure manuals.
Assist the team in developing and delivering soft-skills; management skills and PC application courses.
Participate in other projects related to training as directed/required.
Keep fully up-to-date with Insurance information.
Ensure all training records meet with internal and external compliance.
Sit on the Learning & Development Committee.
Assist the L&D team, acting as CII advisor for all staff offering advice on exams and their administration.
Design and deliver LLMIT training.
Key Competencies:
Technical Skills:
Essential:
Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel PowerPoint, Outlook and other relevant software applications and systems.
A good understanding of insurance and its markets and principles.
Desirable:
The ability to design, build and deliver training and development programmes which are appropriate to the needs of the Group’s employees.
Knowledge of soft skills/management skills topics.
A good understanding of the requirements of our regulators with regard to ‘Training and Competence’.
Relevant Experience:
Essential:
At least 3 years relevant business experience or at least 1 year experience of designing, building and delivering training and development programmes.
Desirable:
Lloyd’s/insurance market experience.
At least 1 year experience of designing, building and delivering both insurance specific and general management skills training and development programmes.
Education and Qualifications:
Essential:
GCSE ‘C’ or above passes in English and Maths.
Lloyd’s and London Market Introductory Test.
Desirable:
Two or more passes at ‘A’ level.
Specialist Training:
Desirable:
Training to train and presentation skills.
Working towards recognised training or HR qualifications.
Coaching experience/courses/qualifications/hours.
Personal Skills:
Well presented and business-like.
Professional outlook.
Flexible at all times.
Very good interpersonal skills.
Excellent organisational skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise at all levels.
