Keen on quality of products and services, and driven by its development in a competitive environment, the company now requires a new QA Engineer to work in the Exchange Traded Derivatives QA Team and take responsibility for testing the operability, performance, robustness, usability and overall quality of our derivatives front end trading system software.
Job Description:
Engineers can expect to work both as sole testers taking responsibility for the testing of particular functional areas or specific releases and also as part of a team for larger projects and releases.
The Company is a fast paced environment and engineers can expect to be working on multiple releases (including new feature / upgrade releases, maintenance releases and patch / bug fix releases).
Key Tasks:
QA Engineers will work closely with our software engineering teams to ensure the high quality of our software products and will be expected to make an active contribution at all stages in the life cycle of the development process.
QA Engineers' responsibilities will include:
Creation and maintenance of manual test scripts (in Test Director).
Test execution throughout the whole testing life-cycle.
Problem finding, diagnosis, tracking and resolution.
Production of release notes.
Process implementation and improvement.
Test environment maintenance and improvement.
Experience:
full life cycle QA/testing experience is required which includes the following:
Functional testing.
Non-functional testing.
Creation of test cases and scripts.
Execution of test cases and scripts.
The following experience is desirable and candidates should be able to demonstrate experience and / or knowledge in at least one of these areas.
Business knowledge and technologies:
Front Office Derivatives.
Risk Management.
FIX protocol.
Test Tools
Mercury Quality Centre / Test Director.
Technologies
Oracle.
SQL.
Qualifications:
Mandatory:
Degree level educated in a technical or numerate subject.
Desirable:
ISEB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing.
Disposition
Self-starter and quick learner.
Strong attention to detail and inquisitive mind.
Methodical and analytical approach.
Strong sense of commitment to quality of the end-product along with a desire to test.
Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate both across teams and externally.
Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
Outspoken, open, willing to challenge others’ views and have own challenged
