Job Title: Finance Manager


Job Description

Basic Purpose:

Responsible for the accurate processing, reporting and monitoring of all financial matters for all Company accounts to assist the UK operation to meet budgeted financial targets. Review current status and performance of branch accounts and alerts Financial Director as required with respect to variances in budget and expenses targets.
Supervise day-to-day activities of accounts department and credit control.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervision, validation and entry of records in ledgers and journals with respect to invoicing, purchases and sales, payments, bank statements and petty cash.
Ensure all accounts and finance practices are in accordance with UK legislation requirements.
Secondary liaison with external auditors and local bank.
Supervision, validation of Weekly payroll system including all employee benefits such as pension and savings. Ensure that legal deductions are made and correctly accounted for.
Prepare monthly and tax year calculations, declarations, returns and payments to the Inland Revenue in accordance with UK legal requirements.
Preparation of month -end closing account balances, general ledger and statements of account.
Reconcilaition and review of all general ledger entries and balances.
Preparation of monthly and annual reports in compliance with HQ reporting system.
Assist the Financial Director in the preparation of proposals and long- range plans, budgets and forecasts in accordance with HQ reporting standards. Alert management with respect to variances in budgeted expense targets.
Prepare additional periodic or non-specific financial reports and financial information to assist the Financial Director, HQ Management or Directors in execution of their duties.
Day-to-day supervision of Credit Controller and any other finance department personnel.
Substitute for the Financial Director in their absence.
Liase with Management to ensure that all departments operate in co-ordination and with efficiency.

Job Summary:

Assist in the leadership of financial expertise for the Company UK operation.
Support each department and team within the UK Operation in effective and accurate financial reporting and cost control.
Provide accurate and timely reporting to management in all matters financial.
Assist with accurate and timely returns and payments to meet all financial aspects of the Company’s legal responsibilities.

Profile:

University degree qualified in accountancy discipline.
Comprehensive knowledge of UK Inland Revenue (Construction Industry Schemes) auditing and other financial (legal) requirements.
Flexible attitude towards working hours and commitments.
Proven track record of accurate and thorough approach to all aspects of financial reporting.
Strong computer skills in MS Office and Pegasus Opera II.
Capable of adapting to new requirements and prioritising own work along with others.
Strong ethical orientation with a predisposal towards accuracy and honesty in all aspects of reporting and general day-to-day business.
Leadership ability to ensure the company values of integrity are maintained, demonstrated by previous example being the leader of a financial department of an organisation.
Demonstration of teamwork and support at all levels within an administration environment and ability to advise management using written and oral presentation skills.
