Principal Purpose of Role:

To develop, agree and implement the Board’s strategies with regard to the pricing, profitability and statistics of the Group’s warranty business.

Key Responsibilities:

Quote prices, including terms and conditions, for all new and renewal warranty business (insurance policies and service contracts) in the U.K. and the rest of Europe (subject to limits of authority - levels to be agreed).
Maintain and maximise warranty business profitability (risk premium, administration fee & marketing budget) in line with budget and pricing principles.
Monitor and report on Pet Protect underwriting results and provide recommendations for a pet rating system and reporting suite.
Maintain and enhance underwriting budget process on Adaytum.
Monitor and report on scheme profitability (risk premium, administration fee & marketing budget) on monthly basis.
Identify underwriting trends and recommend remedial action where necessary.
Maintain a disciplined and structured underwriting / pricing policy.
Input and maintenance of rates on AS400 mainframe.
Develop team / department members to take a full and responsible part in supporting and developing the Underwriting & Statistics function.
New product rating and modelling (home emergency, pets, motor, etc).
Review and agree contract and policy / plan wordings.
Review internal controls and outline key business risks and high level controls which are in place.
Establish close working relationship with Business Analyst Group and I.T to utilise AS400 Mainframe to automate and enhance reporting procedures where possible.
Work closely with Directors / Managers / Operational team to ensure service levels are met and to maintain market leadership.
