Job Title: Marketing Programme Manager


Job Description

Over all purpose of the job:

To help achieve the business objectives of the UK Retail business for Professions and Specialty Commercial in the direct distribution channel.
To create and develop marketing strategy, planning, customer propositions, directing and delivering the complete mix of marketing programmes. To take and interpret briefs from internal clients and deliver marketing solutions.
This role has only existed for 2 years and was formed when the direct channel for businesses insurance was launched.
The target market, product and pricing strategy were taken from our existing broker channel. Now with proven results and a successful marketing strategy, direct commercial channel has been awarded more resources and budget to develop a customer focused proposition and service to drive growth and profit for our client as part of the immediate 5 year plan for the UK retail business.

Principle duties and responsibilities:

Strategy and planning – contribution to development of marketing strategy, planning and research for the Commercial Direct business.
Planning and monitoring marketing and communications activity on an annual basis through centralised marketing bible.
Monitoring competitor activity – propositions, media strategies, targeting and product ranges.
Research and customer insight.
Commission market research and work with Customer Insight manager to acquire customer insight.
Apply customer insight to develop extraordinary propositions to drive growth and market share in the direct channel.
Use to drive current and future product development for the direct channel.
Website management – working with the business and IT, ensure optimal website experience for users.
Apply online proposition to website design, functionality and features.
Work with product manager, design, search and IT agencies to improve path to purchase.
Manage website CMS (content management system).
Sit on Release project team to manage the execution of website updates and new releases.
Report website results and analytic data to wider audiences and interoperate results for recommending improvements/changes to the site.
Campaign management – working with online marketing manager and media agency to plan, implement and assess effectiveness of the online and offline campaigns and report to internal clients of the company.
 PR – drive brand awareness and increase improved customer knowledge about business insurance via.
Provide a reference point for channel related PR, providing a source of ideas for PR stories, and providing management/signoff for press release and media briefing notes.
Develop direct marketing focused communication campaigns in line with marketing strategy using an integration of channels reach the agreed target market and liaising with creative and media agencies.

Qualifications, Skills, Experience and personal requirements:

Proven marketing experience within financial services, general insurance experience is desirable.
Demonstrable all round marketing capability (predominantly below-the-line) including:
Literature production.
Direct marketing (business to business preferable).
New media (desirable, not essential).
Experience of Integrated campaign management.
Understanding of customer buying cycles, how to leverage motivations/drivers.
Awareness of FSA financial services regulations governing communications with consumers and other regulations (e.g. direct mail, internet, advertising codes).
Ability to liaise and build relationships at all levels, but particularly at a senior level.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong organisational skills.
Results-driven.
Used to working in a performance driven culture.

Preferred:

Some experience of marketing strategy development and planning.
Project management (including knowledge of Microsoft Project).
Excellent negotiation skills.
Ability to prioritise and ensure deadlines are met.
Adaptable and flexible to fast-changing business needs.
