Job Description
We are looking for an experienced site/structural engineer to join our client and have the opportunity to have ‘hands on’ involvement on a range of challenging construction/demolition sites. The candidate will be a key member of both the pre and post tender Engineering teams and report to the Chief Engineer.
Duties will include:
Providing practical economic solutions within demanding timescales for both schemes and on-site construction activities.
Continuous liaison and negotiation with site personnel, design teams and specialist subcontractors to ensure that the proposals are validated and approved for construction within agreed timescales.
Determining Temporary Works requirements from drawings, documentation and ground investigation.
Liaising with building control and statutory bodies to demonstrate the validity of Temporary Works Schemes and gain approval of calculations drawings.
Producing design drawings and method statements for the installation of Temporary Works Schemes on site, providing risk assessments associated with the design. Ensure designs have been independently checked.
Production of designs for enquiries to be priced by installation sub-contractors.
Vetting and comment upon sub-contractors Temporary Works Schemes on live projects. Attend and minute engineering related meetings.
Ideally you will demonstrable site and design experience in all forms of Temporary Works normally associated with buildings and be conversant in the use of Autocad and other structural programmes.
