Job Title: Treasury Assistant


Job Description

Reports to:
Group Treasurer
Days of work:
Monday to Friday
Hours of work:
9.30am to 5.30pm

Job Summary:

Organising bank payments and posting transactions to the general ledger for all corporate entities.
Maintaining working capital, petty cash and foreign currency facilities and accounts.
Preparing investment journals on a monthly basis.

Main Duties:

Co-ordination, processing and settlement of corporate payments including CHAPS, BACS, International Transfers and cheque payments.
Monitoring and reporting of daily cash flows and short-term funding requirements.
Posting of bank transaction to general ledger on a daily basis
Preparation of weekly bank reconciliations for all Group accounts.
Timely and accurate processing of petty cash and foreign currency requests.
Processing of investment journals provided by Investment Managers and Investment Accountant.
Reporting of monthly investment and Treasury returns and reconciliation to the GL.
Implementation of improvements to internal processes and systems as required.
Other ad-hoc tasks to support the Group Treasury team and other Finance staff if required.

Technical Skills:

Essential:
Basic understanding of ledgers and trial balances.
Intermediate Excel skills.
Presentation skills in reporting financial information for internal purposes.
Good numerical reasoning skills.
Desirable:
Knowledge of Great Plains eEnterprise accounting package

Education and Qualifications:

Essential:
At least 3 GCSE’s (including Mathematics).
Desirable:
Training for accounting qualification (AAT / ACCA / CIMA / ACA).

Relevant Experience:

Desirable:
Some experience in a company accounts or Treasury environment.

Personal Skills:

Committed attitude to work and professional approach.
Excellent organisation skills are a must for this role.
Ability to work to timetables and plan to meet deadlines.
Ability to show and use initiative.
Problem solver.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Be a self starter - ‘Can do’ attitude.
Friendly and outgoing team player.
