Job Description
Department:
Middle-Office Support
Main Responsibilities:
Description of role and duties, including any project, managerial and/or reporting requirements of the role.
Within a middle office Support team (6 people), candidate would be asked to ensure following duties on Exchange traded products are being performed successfully by the team:
Trade Capture/Record of all electronic/phone executions done by the trading desk and DMA clients.
Check outs with internal/external counterparties to ensure accuracy of transactions/allocations.
Intraday unclaims follow-up, defaults reporting to Front-office, historical queries resolution.
Send out confirmations to any needed counterparty (Customers, Floor brokers...).
Top-day reconciliations of P&L and cash postings.
T+1 or top-day reconciliation of exchange trades.
New accounts opening in Trade Support tools.
Ensure static data for instruments/counterparties is correctly set up.
Monitor exceptions queues to make intraday business is running smoothly.
Manager will be responsible for:
Organising shifts patterns, appraisals, dealing with team member career development.
Participating on new customers on-boarding processes.
Holiday’s approval.
Continuous review of team procedures, team cross-training.
Technical systems issues escalation/resolution, new projects to improve department workflow.
Implementation/roll-out of new systems solutions (file handling, front-office allocation...).
Professional/Technical Skills Required:
List or describe technical skills / education requirements / language skills / industry or market experience required. Can be essential or Desirable.
Products Coverage:
Equities, exercise & assignments.
Understanding of market risk associated to Exchange traded equities activity. Understanding of clearing workflows (from trading to settlement).
Back-Office past experience is desirable.
Middle Office past experience is essential.
E-trading exposure is a must.
Technical/Systems knowledge:
Clearing house interfaces.
Microsoft Office package knowledge is essential (Access, Excel).
Person Skills:
Team player and ability to work under pressure within a challenging area.
Proven experience of supervision/managerial role.
Quick learner, persistent and showing tenacity. Has to be the leader.
Quick adaptability to the company systems, and be competent to propose alternative solutions.
Reporting Line:
Direct reporting to Head of Equities and Fixed Income Operations Europe & Middle East, Working within a team of 6 experienced people (Supervisor included).
