IT Development – Listed Systems

Main Responsibilities:

Support and Development of GMI/Sungard application and bespoke iSeries developments for the company Europe.

Functions:

Understand and support full transaction processing cycle for Listed Derivatives products from transaction entry through statement creation in the GMI/Sungard application.
Work closely with the business and within the IT group.
Develop and support custom / bespoke iSeries programs with primary alignment to Listed Systems group.
Support the operation, testing, and enhancement of the GMI/Sungard application and its impact on custom developments.
Share in a weekly rotation for production support of the night processing.
Work on special projects.
Candidate would need to gain an understanding of the Listed Derivatives business and the applications and data flow within the Technology group.

Responsibilities:

Ensure Company governance and developments are respected and fall under the firm strategic model (i.e. system and application integration and product line workflow management).
Ownership and accountability.  Applicant will collaborate, execute task assignments on UK, European or Global initiatives within the Listed Systems group in London.
To provide application support on GMI/Sungard back office application (in/out of office hours) and iSeries batch processing by the company Global users across Europe and Asia.
Bespoke programming of reports for different offices or business lines around the various data files using SQL, ILE RPG, Free format RPG, CLLE, etc.
Gain experience with GMI modules / sub-systems and night cycle processing via training and support exposure.

Professional/Technical Skills Required:

Essential:

Strong analytical skills and self-starter with ability to take ownership for tasks and assignments.
Excellent communication skills required and a professional phone manner.
Previous experience in application support.
Experience in full SDLC required: User requirements gathering, application/system analysis and design, development and deployment.
Minimum 5 years experience on OS400 / System 36.
Minimum 5 years of RPG, ILE-RPG, RPG/400, RPG36, OCL, CL, embedded and Dynamic SQL, QUERY/400, RLU, DFU, SQL/400, Data Base Utility (DBU 5.0).
Experience in the AS400 Turnover change management process would be good.

Desirable:

Minimum 3 years experience in capital markets (Futures, Securities, Bonds).
Knowledge of GMI/Sungard and proven experience in 1st/2nd level GMI/Sungard application support.
