Position: - Systems Analyst / Programmer
To work within the Brighton-based the company Team, to design, code, test and make changes to VB6 and Java applications for all aspects of the company Call Centres. To design, develop and implement SQL Server databases and tables to support the VB6 and Java applications. To work under the direction of the company Manager, and alongside the other members of the Development Team.
Key responsibilities:- (within the context of company Call Centres)
Develop VB6 and Java systems from design specifications as supplied by project management or developed within the Development Team. Provide cover for application support on an ongoing basis. Support offered must be within agreed SLA’s and of an acceptable quality at all times. Provide ad-hoc SQL Server DBA capability for data loading and manipulation, in conjunction with other IT DBA teams. Ensure all applications are easy to support, flexible, appropriate to need and reliable. Act within scope of authority and consistent with company objectives, guidelines and policies. Ensure both written and oral communication is timely, relevant and of a suitable standard. Maintain an acceptable level of documentation to support the full software lifecycle. Adapt to change within the team relating to new technology, procedures, business drivers etc. Take responsibility for testing the quality and accuracy of deliverables.

A Level Mathematics and/or Science or equivalent
Degree or equivalent Vocational Qualification or equivalent
Desirable
3 or more A-Levels or equivalent
Numerate/Scientific Degree or equivalent
Acquired Skills/Experience
Essential
Solid VB6 experience with Database Design
Solid SQL Language and RDMS experience
Good Java experience or willingness to learn
Good breadth of knowledge of Desktop Development
Desirable
HTML, DTS, Microsoft Windows
CTI experience
Solid MS SQL Server experience
Client Facing experience
Working on several projects simultaneously
Call Centre experience
