Part of our client is located in the City of London, employs 170 people and covers the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, South Africa and the Nordics. Keen on quality of products and services, and driven by its development in a competitive environment, the company now requires a new Technical Consultant to accompany the current client growth.

Job Description:

The role of Technical Consultant will be at the Client Site.

The company’s Client is one of the biggest clearers on the exchange and for the EMOS Support Team.  The Technical Consultant will be expected to be at the Client site and handle all issues raised by the client.  The Technical Consultant will always be at the client site and also be using the Clients emails, therefore the ability to be a self starter and to always represent the business professionally will be of the upmost importance.

Your main responsibilities will be:
Handle all aspects of the Release Process including Change control, Testing and Delivery.
Talking to the exchanges regarding new functionality or errors in the system.
Give feedback to the Clients on usage reports or performance measurements of the software.
Report back to the business on all issues and projects.

The Client will be undergoing a transfer of software which will require all the above skills.  This will be the biggest project and will take a number of months to complete.

The candidates experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
Visual Basic – Ability to review and code only.
Sybase SQL – Understanding SQL is the key to the job.  Any SQL experience valid.
Knowledge of Derivative and financial clearing ideally gained by working at a similar software house of banking organization.
Clearvision or EMOS knowledge would be an advantage but training will be given.
Knowledge of any of these exchanges would be an advantage – C21, LIFFE (LCH), IDEM (BCS), Eurex, Xetra, and LME.

This position will be based at the company's clients site.
